Default My Cheap But Excellent Cymbals

Over the last few years, I have found some really good deals on new cymbals. Here is what I now have, all Sabian.

    18" SR2 Thin (paid $100). This cymbal is a great crash-ride.
17" AAX Concept Crash (paid $110)
16" AAX Concept Crash (paid $100)
14" SR2 Hats (medium top, heavy bottom; paid $160)

So I paid $470 for all of these new cymbals. The hats sound great outside and in big rooms, but they do not sound very good in small rooms. So I may have to buy sound different hats. Otherwise I am totally satisfied with this setup. The pitches and blend are nearly perfect. Peace and goodwill.

Good for you! There's nothing like getting quality drum gear at a good price. And there's nothing like playing sweet-sounding cymbals!

H*ll yeah, good sounding cymbals and hats for a good chunk cheaper? I'd take that all day long, everyday. Good stuff you picked up on.

My greatest cymbal score is a 15" Zildjian K Custom Dark Crash I fished out of a pile of crappy cymbals at a pawn shop. I asked the guy working there what the price of it was. He told me $25, I paid him and ran out of the store.
