    Default NOLA score

So my wife and I went to NOLA earlier this year for Jazzfest, and I came back with the coolest souvenir ever! Maurice the Music Man is a guy that sells old music instruments down in the French Market. Go see him if you are ever in NOLA... trust me. You never know what you're gonna find. Dude had an extremely pitted, beat to Hell and back, 1969 Ludwig Super Sensitive that was missing the SS throw mechanism and someone had converted it to a regular Supraphonic with a standard Ludwig throw and butt plate. No bottom head or snare wires but had both hoops and all of the lugs were completely there along with most of the tension rods. With the Kevlar head and burlap strip underneath it to deaden it, it was obvious that this had been used as a street drum around town for quite a while.

Long story short... Snagged it for 20 bucks.

Cleaned her up, slapped some Remos and Pursounds on her and couldn't be happier.

I would LOVE to hear the stories this drum could tell!

OH yeah! lol To me, that's just a testament to everything it's been through. I mean, this thing was probably floating down Bourbon street after Hurricane Katrina. lol But as far as the sound goes... It's a Supra. It sounds absolutely amazing.

Yeah, that's all cosmetic on the outside.

Now if you throw some candy apple "anything" at it, it'll be eye popping. Reminds me of Jiffy Pop.

    I can let myself out.
