The wife and I are thinking of getting away for thanksgiving and going to Nashville Wed, thru Sunday 23-27th. This will be our first time. Anyone have any good recommendations on stuff to see and do. We definitely want to see some live music and am hoping most venue's are not closed that week due to the holiday. I understand thurs. will probably be tough but hoping fri and sat. places are open. Let me know any tips you have good or bad if you have been before. Right now we are looking at staying at the sheraton grand which seems to be within walking distance of downtown.

I've only been there once but luckily, stayed at the Opryland hotel. In my opinion, this is a DON'T MISS! My God, it's one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen!

I went to Nashville last May and stayed within walking distance of Broadway. There's live music in numerous venues starting at around 11AM and continuing all day and night. Even the Taco bell has a stage with a backline! The level of musicianship there is way above what I've experienced in other locations. On Saturday night while we were there they closed the street for cars to allow people to walk freely. We also went to Fork's, the Gibson Store and toured the Grand Old Opry. Great trip!

Everybody should spend some time in New Orleans ( correct pronunciation is Norlyns or as some residents say: New orLEENS. I've heard that a few times ).
