Hey guys, I was waiting to post about this until I had more to say than just "I'm in a new band" so here it is.

I joined a new band. We call ourselves Damage Poets. It's a four piece. Vocals-Tommy, Guitar- David, Bass- Kevin, Drums-me.

We have recordings of practices but not much more. There is enough music for a 45 min set though. We recorded a drum track last night for one of the songs with a mic in front of the set. It came out fine and might do something with that temporarily. Will probably do some songs with a 4-track recorder in a couple weeks.

What's kind of exciting is the set up I'm using for this band. I really like it so far. Much more compact than what I have been using for the last 26 years. Some of the changes 12" rack tom on snare stand, hanging 14" tom off cymbal stand, 5.5x14 snare and 2 crashes. For RDM I use a 13" rack, 16 and 18" floors, 6.5x14 snare and 3 crashes.

This is the new configuration

UFiP 21" Bionic ride
UFiP 14" Bionic hats

The Bionics (B20) sound amazing and the Tigers (B8) are explosive and quick.

I will be changing the 14" tom soon to a clear. Probably the snare too to something else coated.

Thanks. They are a mix of old Mapex Venus'' and my first set, Ludwig Standards from 1972.Toms are Evans EC2’s, Snare is an old Ludwig branded Weather Master.

hi guys, well our first show was successful, a lot of fun. Nice stage with good sound. We did about 40 min. Made some contacts with a couple other bands to do some shows together and the guy doing the booking at this club would like us back.

Man I tell you, I'm having a lot of fun playing this set up. Loving the smaller sizes. I feel like I'm really in command of it. We got this video from the side. It's not bad. Sounds best with headphones.

Nothing much to add to this thread right now as the singer that we had decided to leave all of a sudden. Singers

We have been auditioning and the last guy that came out really was prepared and sounded pretty good so might be close to getting this afloat again soon.
