Yamaha yd 7000s

Were these drums mid level or right up high end.

IMHO, anything YAMAHA will please the palette. (Mine, at least) 7000's should be a step down from 9000's which were considered the cream of the crop so I'd say you have mid to upper level quality compared to other brands and within the YAMAHA family.

I don't know model specific but again to the best of my knowledge older YAMAHA drums are the best that they offered. I have a new AHM kit and love it.
