ah ha! I guess I'm the first all tama-kit playing guy to reply to this! I have a 6 piece tama rockstar shellpack, with an add on tama imperialstar 18" floor tom, tama iron cobra double pedal, a rockstar steel snare, a rockstar birch snare, and a maple piccolo snare. most of my hardware is tama, but I have some gibralter, pdp and pearl thrown in there too... but hey, my kit is like 90% Tama.
Thats the way, uh huh, uh huh, I like it.

You know that the Imperialstar replaced Rockstar right? And that they're both entry level kits. Not exactly top of the line stuff.

Actually Superstar replaced Rockstar and Imperialstar replaced Swingstar. There was a day that Imperialstar was their top end kit. They just revived the name for the new introduced kit. I owned a 6 piece Rockstar back when they first came out and it was a very good kit. When I got my Gretsch Catalina Birch kit the Rockstar was my No. 2 choice.
Now playing Gretsch and Slingerland Drums

I prefer 6-Packs ROCKSTAR better than the 8-pack's...

I say use a double bass pedal dude....It's definetly cheaper than you have two bass drums...
    Just my thought....

Dude, I'd go for it! that's my kit plus a bass... I'm happy with mine, and you'd love it too! Use that second bass though, double bass on seperate drums makes for much better sound. Two beaters on one bass muffle each other, but using two seperate bass drums allows for much better sound quality.
