All things being equal, I doubt that there would a noticeable difference.
If it was a 10x7 and a 16x16, you would probably notice something.

Thanks for ya reply would a 12x9 go better with a 16x16?

Depends on what you want. I changed up my floor tom sizes and like it now. Heads have some to do with the attack as is how hard or light you're hitting.
For now, I went from 13 16 18 to 12 14 Aquarian Performance II heads
