    What are ya thoughts on the vf 3ans what ya recommend for rock hard hitting lots of rim shots i need them to last at least one set without splitting. Let's rock n roll man 1234

    I'm not familiar with that stick but rim shots will always wear down a drumstick because you're consistently hitting metal along with hitting the head. Vic Firth is a quality brand so I'm not sure it's the stick, especially if they're not lasting more than a set. Mine last for months and I hit a ton of rim shots. Not sure how to advise here.

    I have Pro Mark 5B Hickory nylon tip in my stick bag that date from the 70's

    VF American Classic Rock, Pro-Mark, Vater and Regal Tip all make some good long lasting sticks.

    I was really hitting hard on a few songs during the last show.

    The Regal Tip Quantum 3000's I used lasted the whole 40min. No breakage just a lot of dents in the middle from rimshots and shoulder dings from cymbals.

    Be careful of some of the cheaper hickory sticks that are out there. Maybe good for practice but not so much for a show.
