    Default A New Beginning?

After almost 11 months, my band has a guitarist coming over tonight for a "no commitment jam" just to see if anything clicks.
AND....I think it's better than an even money bet that something clicks
This guy is well known around town and is a very good player....also an open-minded person that can play any genre.
He also has connections to potential gigs and other players, including a horn section, should anyone care to go there.
I can recall seeing his face in the crowd at a few of our gigs over the last 10 years....showing an interest.

After he accepted our invitation, I sent him 20 songs from our current list and told him he could choose as many, or as few, as he wished.
He later replied and suggested 10 of those songs....which indicates more than a quick look at each other.
The other guys are excited to have a guest tonight.

I have a similar story to share that just occurred late last week. I didn't want to flood your thread so if you don't care here's a link or have drummer just delete my post.

We have hit a barrier......it's called everyone wants to expand with a keyboard player and we can't find one.
And even if we a successful, the venues around here are terrible.
Covid closed all the good ones.

When I moved to North Carolina I figured I would meet some musicians just to get together and jam a couple of times a month.

Walking my dog, I met a lot of people but as for musicians there are 4 drummers within walking distance of my house, that's it.

I need to get my Butt out more. I need to goto local clubs to try to meet some local Musicians that Maybe I could Jam with. Geriatric types preferable, since I'm 72 and Never Played with other than HS Buddies way back when in 1967-69. It was 1969 when I was done with Drumming. Resurrected playing in 2019 After 50 Years. Playing to My Music in the basement as a retirement Hobby only Goes So Far. I'm capable enough to play Petty, CCR, Mellencamp, Byrds, Cars, Stones, Springsteen, Eagles, ...Stuff Like That.
