    Cool help

    Welcome aboard, jguzman...

Realize that some cymbals have what look like dents in them when you get them...they're hammered to create the sound they're supposed to have.

Having said that, what kind of cymbals did you get? Sounds like you got what came with the kit, which, sometimes are pretty darn cheap. If you got no-name cymbals, you did...

While some people look down at the Zildjian ZBT set, they're inexpensive, they have a decent sound, and they can put up with some serious crashing, bashing and thrashing! Might consider them...but look at other makes, too...

    Good luck, man!
keep the beat goin' ... Don't keep it to yourself!

if your still seeing if you like it or not, i would get some b8s or some zbts, and if you start to like drumming and want to take it to the next step, save up some money and buy some pro cymbals

    which is the best
They come with almost same quality, and definetly They're both good quality...
It's you that choose between them...

I will choose ZBT myself....it sound crisp
But according to you who 'not-a-hard-hitter'....I will say PST3 is cool for u...

Being a Paiste guy, I can even admit the ZBT's are a better choice than PST-3's or 5's.

Noooo, pst 5 isnt, i dunno about pst 3

But for first cymbals, dont look to far into things bud, B8's from sabian, or ZBT's from zildjian are probaly your best bet, id take the B8's from sabian, seeing as how their more versitile (IMO), and they seem to hold up better than ZBT

Plus their cheaper by a bit

Then start moving up after a bit, but start low, dont go buying professional K's or signatures right now

Funny, I still have the cymbal that came with my Percussion Plus kit...even though the cracks are some what fun to look at and trace, I've got about 6 cracks on the cymbal that all get to about 2-3 inches in and then split off into three other cracks, then they go to the sides instead inwards. As I said, fun to look at, the cymbal was still pretty decent a few months ago for a weird jazz ride sound, but now it's completely dead, the only good thing left is the bell and mind you that thing cuts and has better definition than all of my higher quality ride bells.

i can't believe how easily my ZBT crash dents. Just little ones on the edge. Maybe bad tecnique...but it never happened to me before.

    Really ??
I got mine was totally fine....After I own it for about 6 months.....

But I heard that ZBT is not suit for any 'hard hitter'.....
    Maybe you one of them??

I'd go with the B8's if I were you, but thats all up to you, because they sound the best out of them all- bright and not overall too bad for cheap cymbals and they'll definately hold up well.

I have several B8's, and I love them. They have good tone, can take a beating, and are cheap. I have lots of B8's and several Zildjian A customs, which are considered by many to be THE top of the line, but I prefer using the B8's most of the time because they have a more subdued sound, and more decay. For your money, I think B8's may be the best option.
Thats the way, uh huh, uh huh, I like it.

An earlier comment was B8s or ZBTs, I'd go with the B8s. I go this great pack that comes with: pair of 14" hi-hats, 14", 16", 18" crashs, 20" ride, and a free 10" splash. It was about $250, which is great, and I love the cymbals. My school has ZBTs and I don't think they are that great. They have other cymbals too, that they use more after marching seasons is over and they can put them back on the set.

    personally, the b8s are great
and are the reason i became a sabian guy
they opened the door for me so to speak
im not close minded so dont think that im one of those guys that can only buy sabian
but i am just the most ahppy with them and every time i go to buy a cymbal
i check out EVERYTHING in the store
so my vote is for the sabians
    good luck and best wishes

    Hmm...

So B8 is that good ???
I've used it in studio, and I think I prefer ZBT's....

Maybe it just different taste of sound I think.....

No one vote for Paiste ??
