Old drummers never die; they just get a new Peterbilt.
Or is that truckers?
Some may remember, some may not, some will know, some will not.
About 14 months ago I gave up on anything happening in my music world and sold all my shells. I did not totally give up as I did keep my Yamaha and DW hardware sets. I also kept my Signature series cymbals, all my SKB hard cases and some bags. Too lazy to post and sell after exhausting time selling and shipping shells. I'd made my point.
A new IT firm is coming on board to take over for little ole me as I'm about to retire from my Credit Union that I managed for the past 10.5 years by myself. Turns out one of the new brats that is coming on board is the son of a band member I played with about 20 years ago. I couldn't even remember the name of the band. I asked it they were related and he said, his dad. Sigh do I feel really old now. I told him to say hi for me and the next day he told me their band was looking for a drummer with summer gigs starting in 2 weeks. After several phone discussions over the next few days, I agreed to get up to speed with a song list I was only familiar with half and had never heard the other half. I also didn't own any drums but was in the process of cleaning up a kit I had from a friend, so I was covered if needed.
Commence the shopping and I ended up with:

This kit made it by the first gig.
This one has done the rest.

I also had to pick up an electric kit which is strictly for rehearsals. We don't practice at my place, our guitarist hosts it in a small room in his basement. Plus side is we don't have to be loud so it works out great. I'm working on editing out some usable video from the past weekends shows and I'll post something if it doesn't suck too bad. lol

Once a drummer, always a drummer. I knew you'd be back at it. Welcome home Bish! ... and that's a gorgeous kit!

Thanks, everyone. I have a couple videos I'll post in the video section. If you watch them, be kind. It was our first real show besides an outdoor private party we played at to see if we all gel. That was after two weeks of rehearsals. The indoor shows is after a month. Keep in mind the two indoor vids were songs I'd never heard before Memorial Day. lol Heading over to Vid Section now.
