I don't use drum racks anymore but when I did, I always preferred square tubes rather than round because the clamps like the Gibralter ones would always slip.
Rack Clamps
I have 9 of these Gibralter clamps; they are used to support cymbals or toms.
Are people still using the old round Gibralter rack sections?

I found a buyer that wanted all of them and I got a good price....shipping was only $18....I got lucky.
