I’ve been thinking about doing a wrap on my drums. For those of you that have done it before, how strong is the adhesive on the wrap? Can it be peeled off without a lot of residue left behind?

The other problem is the badges on mine are glued not screwed like a lot of newer stuff now so I don’t know how well all that would work out. I like having badges on the my drums and would hate to have to leave them off.

I looked at a ton of company designs but decided to submit my own design so if I decide to do it I will either use my design or just a solid color with no design.

I did mine and there is only a strip about 1" that goes on the wrap itself. Nothing sticky is attached to the drum. The wrap is cut so that it has about 1/4" space on the top and bottom. My Ludwigs were built in the late '60's so taking the old wrap off was impossible. The new wrap went over the old wrap and when you put the hardware on you can't tell that the old wrap is under the new and looks as good as the black wrap that came on my drums. I have another bass drum and 3 toms that I picked up since I've been in NC. I could put the whole set up in fact I did it once down here but the 1st roughly 10 years of videos have been wiped away.

If you do it just take your time and if you look at my set (which I think came out pretty good) you can't tell. With 2 BD's and 9 toms, the biggest PITA is taking all, and I mean ALL, of the hardware off. The wrap has been on my set for a little over 10 years and not a problem with it, and I've changed heads at least a 1/2 dozen times so there has been no problem when you consider that my wrap is over the original wrap.

Thanks for the info Rick. How did you do the badges?

I haven’t heard back from this place yet.
So we’ll see. Can’t remember the name right now, where did you get your wrap?
