Randy where the hell have you been??? I've been moving things around and lost my notebook with your # in it. With all the crap that has been happening in Texas I figured I'd give you a call and see how things were going down there.

BTW, there was a pretty blonde weathergirl from New Braunfels that tried out for DCC a few seasons back and I'm still trying to figure out if I like you or not after that pic of you and Jessica Alba from a few years ago.

Yeah, I got divorced. Bounced back, living single and now retired. Now playing in bands in and outside of church full time which has kept me busy and working on my chops. How about you Randy? You had a dynamic band and a bright future as I recall.

Man, that's great. Glad you are doing well and playing a lot.

Our band was doing extremely well. So well that it began controlling our lives. It was a good thing of course - I mean who doesn't like success? But it got to the point where we were getting booked 6-9 months in advance which made it really hard for everyone to have primary careers/families/etc. And we never wanted it to become a full time gig. So...we stopped altogether for a few years. Still got together to jam and hang out, but had decided to not gig anymore.

Well a few years went by and the itch came back. I had started working on learning bass a few years before this and was getting fairly proficient - at least for the simple music we played. When we got back together, we didn't invite our original bass player back. Great guy, but not a great band member. So I told the others that I'd play either drums or bass, depending on who they found to round out the band. Turned out to be another drummer, so I moved over to bass. Anyway, we did that for a few years and again decided to stop gigging again. And now we are back to just getting together to jam together and maybe play for friends. And...I'm back on drums again which feels really good!

I also started a side-hustle business in this time. Lifelong hobby turned into a little side money. And that has really taken off too which consumes a lot of nights and weekends. All in all, life is great! Thanks for asking.

Thanks for the update Randy! Wow, most bands have the opposite experience as to what you guys went through but to be that busy is a double edged sword if you have a fulltime job, family etc. I admire your ability to learn bass. That's pretty cool.

Just one more question. You may of told us before but how on earth did you have the opportunity to run into Jessica Alba and Jennifer Gardner? Is this part of your side hustle? Thanks...

Through my primary career. Companies they own or endorse that I've dealt with over the years. I've been around Jenn the most. She's unbelievably humble and sweet.
