Default Crazy Snare stand idea. Part 2. Pics!

Ok... before I get into the details...
Im not of the mind set that I am doing something revolutionary here.
Im sure most of us have played with our share of whacky hardware set-ups. I am, as stated before, trying to make something that will help solve a few problems I am having with snare drum stand movement, and contact between the snare stand and my double pedal connecting bar.

Ive been playing with a few designs. The first few were not very sturdy. Even the one pictured below, could stand (no pun intended) to be sturdier. I have yet to get my hands on a Gibraltar legless snare stand, which will help get everything feeling a bit more solid. Untill the Gibraltar piece arrives... here is what I have so far.

Roc-n-Soc seat, attatched via the main tube piece from my DW cable hi hat stand. Then, that is connected to another DW clamp, and attatched to the main tube of my 9000 snare stand with basket.

    So far so good...
I will post more as I work on it further.

    Very nice setup, Matt!

It may sound crazy, but you actually thought through something that might work out, and brother, it did...

Just throw a rubber foot on the bottom of the down tube. Another thing to consider is to cut a cymbal stand bottom off to the same length as the down tube you are using and use an appropriate diameter where the adjustment screw is and then you will have a height adjustment for it. I don't know if you understand what I am trying to convey here but maybe you get the idea!

It needs the floor for support especially as hard as vegas says he hits. He has to have it touch the floor or it will bounce around, there is not enough strength in the attachment pieces to hold it up in the air as well as extend the snare basket where it needs to be.

what if you took that setup and instead of putting it on your throne put it on your tom tube maybe that would be more sturdy

    Hey guys...
Im still trying a few other versions of this piece... Also waiting for some additional parts.

I think the new and impoved "Snare horse" is going to be exactly what I am looking for.

As for my snare head... It says..

    Enemy:
    Intro.
    HH X 2.
    Verse. X 4.
    Bridge in 7/8.
    Chorus.
    Verse X2.
    Chorus.
    Intro.
    HH X 4.
    Chorus.
    Out.

I sometimes right reminders for songs (In this case the song is called enemy)... On my snare head, if they are long and hard to remember.
