Nice one Kry. looks like you guys had fun
So, on new years eve, we had three musical acts for our service. Our own church youth band, God's Hourglass, started it off with a cover of Casting Crowns "What if his people prayed" and a newer version of the classic "I'll Fly Away." The second group was an amazing local group called Overflow, and the last was a hippie guy. Very large man... like 6' 4", and probably a good 250... solid guy. Anyway, he pulled out his acoustic guitar, handed his 14 inch Remo, key tuned djembe to our church's regular drummer, asked me to go get my djembe, looked to the audience and aid... "I need more drums." So I pulled out my djembe and bongos (something told me to bring them) I also dragged along a cowbell, and woodblock... so we outfitted the lead singer and drummer from Overflow with them... Now we have a giant hippy, two djembe drummers, a guy with a cowbell and stick, and a guy with a woodblock and stick... all lined up at the front of the church... and he said "I need more drums." So we dragged the floor tom out from the church's house set, and put the guitarist/drummer from God's Hourglass on it... so... long line of percussionists, and a giant hippy at the front. It was one of the most remarkable jam sessions I've had the pleasure to be a part of. Had to share that with everyone. We ended up playing one solid song all the way up to like 11:55...it was an odd melody of several oldschool Christian Songs, some original stuff buy the giant hippy guy, and a whole lot of improv. Amazing stuff. God moved that night.
Thats the way, uh huh, uh huh, I like it.

I'm a little envious!
Actually, I'm thrilled to hear how all of you --and your drums--joined together to ring in (or should it be drum in?) 2008!
Good thing you had the bongos and djembe in the car...maybe I should keep a drum in mine more often...actually you said it at the end of your post: It was God who moved, and He used you as a part of it!
Great story, bro'! Great way to start the year, too!
keep the beat goin' ... Don't keep it to yourself!
