of course the difference is the sound.
And sound is point of taste

Keep On Drumming
Smaller splashes are gonna sound brighter and higher pitched as well as have a shorter sustain. Larger splashes have a darker tone overall... Most lower entry level splashes aren't even worth buying since the good ones have a beautiful pleasing tone to the ear.

i love this thing sooo much hahaha
I prefer my splashes in 8" 10" and 11".
A 6" has always seemed silly to me.
My favorite is my 8" Rude.

I got the 'better' solution...i have the solution
the china splash
How about using China and Splash 6",8",10" as well....
Bout the question....between 6" and 10"....I prefer 6"....the smaller the cleaner sound....

16" Zildjian Avedis Thin Crash

6" Meinl Classic Splash

17" Stagg China
P122 Double bass pedal
well the 6 inchers are only $50 bucks
im in the market so i guess ill have to go and checkout guitar center and see what i like
8'' is the best type of splash in my opinion. Try for a Zildjian.
"Music is always an experiment."
The splashes are just like a normal crash
I personally prefer a 10 inch splash, becuase i get the splash sound, AND volume
The smaller you go, the more volume you lose, and the higher the sound, its on personal taste, much as crashes
But theres no real, in the middle sound, like a 16 crash, theres no certan splash that is right in the middle
The 6' cymbals are practically finger cymbals for belly dancers! Seriously they are worthless musically really in my opinion. They have no volume to be heard more than a couple feet away
well i got the 10 " for now i think ill get smaller as i go
PDP
paiste high hat
paiste 18" crash/ride
zildjian 10" splash
"the beat flows through me"
i like 8" 10" and 12" splashes myself. if i had to choose only one i'd go with a 10" and then buy an 8" as soon as possible.

i think the problem with 6" is if you dont know how to use it well. of course it will not be heard when the snog gets to loud, but in short fills, breaks or pause it can really cut through very nice!
i got a 8" zxt and a 6" aax cus like some1 said, entry level splashes are not even worth buying
UFIP splashes sound divine!
all the best...
the only entry level splash i've heard so far that i like is my 10" sabian b8pro splash.
