Default Looking to add a fast crash

I'm looking to add a fast crash to my arsenal. I currently have an "A" Zildjian 18" Armand med/thin crash & a vintage 70's "A" Zildjian 18" med/thin. Looking for something w/a very quick decay. Any recommendations?

16" Zildjian A custom fast crash would fit the bill.

i don't know if a mixture of the sounds of the two brands would work, but the paiste signature series fast crashes are wonderful.

Fast Crashes are crash cymbals with extremely short decay. So basically, after the initial Crash they don't 'shimmer' for a long time if that makes any sense at all.

A Custom Crashes of any sort are gorgeous, I recommend them.

Usually fast crashes are slightly thinner/lighter than normal crash cymbals. They will explode rapidly when struck and decay quickly and will have little to no wash (sustained ringing) in their sound.

Your absolutely right w/the sigs. I had a 17" that i sold (still regretting it). But now that i went back to Zildjians, i dont know if they would blend well together. Thanks 4 the feedback

I have a Zildjian 15" A Custom thin crash for this purpose. Sounds awesome in recordings.

I love Sabian's HH Sound Control Crashes.

For me they are the perfect bridge between splashes and full crashes. I have them in 12", 14", and 15" sizes. They have a very (glassy?) sound. They have worked wonderfully for me when recording or in church situations.

Depending on your situation, they may not have enough projection for your needs.

(not even sure if they are still in production)
