    Default Paiste 3000

Recently my band played an open mic night, where any band could come in and play 4-5 songs. There was a house kit, it was a Pearl, I wasn't a big fan of the tone of the drums, but the one thing that really stood out to me was the ride cymbal. It was a Paiste 3000 series ride, and I talked to the drummer who owned the kit and he said he has had it since he was 13. Anyone have any information on this series of cymbals? I really don't have a whole lot of time between shows and school, so searching the internet isn't practical right now, thanks!.
    It's a classic.

3000's have been discontinued for many years. They are one of my personal favorites. I still own quite a few.
    They are basically 2002's.
The still turn up on ebay regularly, but most are lookin pretty old.

My 22" 3000 Power ride is one of my all time favorite cymbals.

Nice. I have to put them on my wish-list, right next to Roto-toms and a piccolo snare.

I saw a 3000 Reflector Ride that was pretty sweet on eBay. Recommend it?

Im not a big fan of telling people what to buy... but if you guys are worried about quality and sound... The 3000 series is no joke.

They are classic Paiste top end stuff... just a bit older.

    I never met a 3000 I didnt like. :-)

    Paiste 3000 ROCK!

Steller cymbals as that was all I played back in '85 - '90.

I believe that they top the 2002 series but obviously the Paiste brothers didn't think so.

In another post of mine I speak of having a cymbal special made back in the day... it was a Paiste 3000 Reflector 20" China that ended up going into production 18 months after I had it.

The sad ending to this story...I now have zero Paiste 3000's.:

They are great cymbals. I used to be a Paiste guy, but I am a Sabian guy now. Peace and goodwill.
