Man that was fun, and not as hard as i thought it would be. I already
want to make another one that is longer, maybe play the congas instead
I put up a short vid, its a 1:50 secs. Check it out and let me know what
you think. I had to use a digital camera, so i was forced to keep it short.
Auto focus goes in and out a couple times but the sound is decent.
Its up at myspace....http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu...deoID=26762404

Thanks Coke Can, gotta first name? I tried to make another vid, batteries
ran out and my congas are in the garage so its a bit on the dark side.
Ill get some more batteries and try again...who knows i might even do it
tonight im having fun with this video stuff. I never knew i could actually
make a video on my camera that would be even half way decent. Here is
some conga playing....http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu...deoID=26772303
I kept screwing up, hey im human
Dig the vid dude! Like the way you change it up and the different sounds. Great job.

I didn't know you'd put up both djembe and conga videos, bro'!
Both of them are SWEET!
It was cool to hear someone playing a slower beat on the congas than what I've seen on YouTube...most congueros want to show off their blazing speed!
How difficult is it to upload onto MySpace? I just got a new mini-DVD camcorder for Christmas and I'm itchin' to put some conga and bongo vids up for our brother and sister DrumChatters, but I haven't quite gotten the knack yet...
If we were in person, I'd give ya a major high-five on both of them, Jack! (then after that we'd both be tradin' riffs!) Great job, man!
keep the beat goin' ... Don't keep it to yourself!

Wow Jack, very nice hand drumming. I agree about the change up in sound. Well done.
I play, Gretsch Catalina Birch, 7 piece in the vintage sunburst finish.
RIP, Frank. You will not be forgotten. Missing you, mate
I taped a slow jam, percussion isn't about always playing fast.
This morning when i made the other 2 vids i was enjoying some
strong coffee beverage lol. I mess up a couple a times in this
video but hey what the heck. Here it is anyways...enjoy.

nice man. the vids pretty dark but the sound came in great. love that rythm you got going there
Very cool Jack! It's always good to have another hand drummer around here. I appreciate you sharing your vids with us! How long have you been playing, if you don't mind my asking?

My other links are no good anymore on this thread. Ive taken those
vids down from myspace. A couple are back up on my youtube chan as
well as this new one here...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SETrYd8v1dQ
It starts of kind of free form and about 1/3--1/2 the way through
I start working on my new latin practice. I really have alot of work ahead of
me. If you pay attention about 1/2 way through the more latin sounding rythms
I begin throwin down heel toe with my right arm. Being a lefty I have
had to work hard to get to this point and I am really proud of my efforts thus
far. Thanks for takin a look. Feel free to critique, I know I have a lot to learn
and my skin is thick.
OK, you stink!
LOL There is no way that I can say that with a straight face! I thought your video was awesome Jack! I just recently bought a set of congas (quinto and conga) that came with a set of bongos. I feel like such a newbie all over again, but your video is very inspiring. I know it takes hard work, but when I heard your playing, I knew it would be worth it.

Hey, Jack...watching you (and your acknowledging that your heel-and-toe needs improvement) inspires me...my heel-and-toe isn't as sharp as I would like either, and gettin' that down will kick up my speed a few notches!
From one brother conguero to another, congrats!

The other links I have posted in this thread are no longer working. I took
those videos down. Here is a working link of our band doing "Reggae Style"
at our studio. We just wanted to get something on youtube. More to come
with more effort put into them. Enjoy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fTsxB-WnwGw
