    Default My second drumset

Hey I'm new here at DrumChat so I figured I'd post a picture of my second drumset. My first was a Pearl Sound Check. Never heard of it? Yeah, me neither. So I saved up some money, and bought my Gretsch Catalina Maple when i turned 15 (I turn 16 this March). I just took pictures wit my phone about 4 and a half minutes ago (sorry about the lighting). Tell me what you think. Oh, and if anybody feels like donating cymbals and/or stands, PLEASE do! HAHA!

    Here are my specs:
    10" tom
    12" tom
    14" floor tom
    16" floor tom
    22" x 18" bass drum
13" x 3" Pearl Steel Piccolo Snare (PRIMARY)
14" x 6" Grestch Catalina Maple Standard Snare (SECONDARY)

    14" Sabian Pro X-Celerator Hats
    14" Sabian Pro Mini Chinese
18" Sabian B8 Pro Rock Crash
    20" Sabian AA Medium Ride

(the attatchments won't work for some reason so just click the link)

great drums there. a little better pedal allignment might be more comfortable.
maybe move the ride a little more over the 14" where you dont have to reach as much.

    welcome to the forum.

Nice kit Gdrums! And yes, I do have the Gretsch catalina Maple kit too. Sweet sounding kit! I can't quite make out the finish on your kit. Mine is the amber finish. Which finish do you have?

Thanks for all the drummerly love guys!

Pr. Bob- It IS a great kit. I finally fine-tuned the toms and they sound amazing! I have the Cherry Red finish. It looks beautiful. I use the Pearl Steel Piccolo snare though because i just can't seem to get a good sound out of them original snare. I only use it as a backup on my recordings when im doing a marching snare beat (Can't Happen Here- Atreyu). If you have any tips on how to get a nice sound out of it let me know. Thanks!

P.S.- don't worry funky. I always thought I would have to reach for the ride but it's not as bad as it looks. And the pedals are actually more comfortable for me than every other drumset I've played with different setups (upwards of at least 50). I just keep the balls of my toes on the lower quarter of the pedals so it's a lot easier to get a nice loud hit even when I'm doing double bass. Thanks for the concern though man. Nice to have someone who actually knows what they're talkin about try to help.
