I used to have a 5 1/2 chrome dyna-sonic, hated it, took off all the hardware and threw away the shell. I have never seen a wood one, why do you have two of the same? Just to collect or do you use them and need an identical back-up?

    Too bad about your dynasonic.
Not everyone likes a Brass shell snare drum. Especially one so sensitive and finnicky at the same time. And loud. Wow are they loud. I have four COB Dynasonics.
One of these has a coated Remo Ambassador on top with an ambassador snare side. The other has an Evans J1 Etched on top and a diplomat snare side. I use them for different things.
I do collect. These are fairly valuable drums. There were only a few hundred made. They are even rarer than the 1960s Rogers Wood Dynasonics.

Very few snare drums attain the degree of sensitivity and feel these are capable of. Set up properly, they are simply beautiful.

    What happened to that hardware?
