Its already on my wish list.
Hey guys, just found out about this cool instrument! It's called the Cajon, which means box in spanish and that's what it is essentially. Some have snares in them which is cool, and you play it by sitting on the top and hitting the box. Here's a link to a youtube vid of this band I've been watching. The dude sitting on the box with the Meinl AA is playing the Cajon.

And here's one similar to his, or atleast close.

They also make them w/o snares.
So if any of you know much about this thing, or have any comments feel free to ask or say or w/e lol. Thinking I may add that Cajon to my percussion thing, then get my lower tom...
Its already on my wish list.
It's sounds soooo cool, and I'm thinkin' I'll nab me one this summer...

Hey, Zetsumei--
Cajons are cool!
Don't know if you saw this in the Percussion thread, but I recently wrote a review about a cajon I saw in Guitar Center a few weeks ago:

Seems interesting BB, just that your discription of the whole um, pyramid thing isn't what I'm lookin' at. I want the ones you can sit on =D. I'll prolly do that Throne idea. Maybe take it to church and use it there. The one I posted seems pretty nice.
You can sit on it and tilt it a little...must admit I was playing it like a square conga drum, which you can also do...but it gives ya another option for hand drumming, even if you're playing other hand drums, like a fill at the end of a verse...
