What is your favorite trash can ending to a song? You know, the big finale when everyone, especially the drummer, just goes off.

    I'll start...

Heart- "Rock & Roll" live version. After a killer drum solo, Ann & co. just crush the ending.

Wha? Only two people in hrer like trash can endings? I guess they've gone the way of 15 minute drum solo's, guitar solo's, lead singers who sing, and dinosaurs? I'm even older than I thought.

Is this what it was like for jazz micisians in the 50's when the public just totally turned their back on them? One minute Tommy Dorsy is the Elvis of his day, and the next thing you know Elvis is the Elvis of his day. At least when the Beatles eclipsed The King they were good song writers, if not great musicians.

...oh, excuse me. It's green Jello day here at the rest home. Gotta grab the walker and beat the other blue hairs to the chow hall!

    Speaking of jazz-rock, weren't we?

Anyone remember the "long" version of "Get it On!" by Chase?

I wouldn't call it a trash-can ending, but everyone on that recording was kicking serious (rhymes with "mass") at the end...and surprised everyone with that coda...no wonder you hear it so often at college and high school drumline competitions!
keep the beat goin' ... Don't keep it to yourself!
