Are they the hits on the snare or the cymbals because it sounds as though the snare is being hit before the cymbal hits?

    Thanks!

Ok, dont worry about my second question. The snare does land on the note before each bass hit so it would be 'a'1 'and'a '2'and '3'e (4 'and' crash)

Stevo, some of the bass hits are also on the off beats which is why it was racking my brain out. Seems so simple now though. Thanks drummer
