    Default Cradle for my 14"

My set has the 14" as a mounted tom and no floor tom, which I'm finding out now that it's limiting where I put this ride. The only stand I have that will allow it to be on the angle I want is a straight stand. How much would it cost and what exactly would be done to convert it from a mounted tom to a floor tom?

    Thanks

I have a 14' too, its annoying when you attach your ride to the stand where the tom is mounted. I mounted my 10 and 12 to a stand and moved it a bit to the left to make space for my ride. works for me and makes your kit look cooler too

gibralter makes a cradle. not sure how much tho. i use a 14 mounted with my small kit. almost set up like yours except i mount the 14" and the ride on the boom, and the right crash on the straight stand. here is the best shot i have of it. it

it works for me. i can get it pretty much anywhere i can get a floor tom.

Nice looking set up Funky, and I still love that natural look! Oh, and the drums don't look too bad either. LOL

Simplest thing would be something like this:

No holes to drill and you can always revert to the original configuration when you want

That's way too much money, though. You need to look through eBay. I found a cradle for my 16" floor tom for about $25.00.

Just search for: floor, tom, cradle

Thanks for your help guys. I've taken Funky's idea into consideration seeing as I have one boom right next to my straight stand that I'm using for my ride. And Andreew has a good idea too, but I don't think I'd become too familiar with moving around to get to my set, I like everything nice and laid out.

Another way is to buy a dedicated tom stand and continue hang it just not on a cymbal stand. I use a DW9000 dedicated tom stand and hang two toms a 14" and a 16" from it, it is solid as a rock.
