    Hey everyone

I'm looking at getting the PST 5 Rock set, which comes with 14" hats, 16" crash and 20" ride. Would this be a good choice for a relatively entry-level kit?

jerimiah40, the pst 5 do not sound very good and i would not recommend them. i have told this to many people before. saving up money and buying a pro set of cymbals is more cost efficient and better in the long run. all the money you spent on buying cheap, then intermediate, then pro, all could have gone to buying pro cymbals at the beginning of this whole ordeal. so save up your money and spend it on some good cymbals. happy shopping

They should do you fine in your learning process. Zildjian ZXT's sound great as well, and although I'm not a fan, Sabian B8's are good as well. Good luck, and happy learning.
    It's a classic.

I'd say for an entry level kit (that you don't want sounding like crap) look at some of Paiste's higher end products like the Alpha line or even 2002's if you can snag one for a good price. Ebay always has offers on these cymbals so give yourself some credit as you work your way up there and get some good sounding equipment, bro. I had the PST3's and despised life until I got rid of them lol, they do not make a good impression.

I have played PST 5 rock sets just a week ago in Drum Clinic....

It's quite a good cymbals with the price....
It's very economical although it was medium end cymbals...
They quality below ZBT and ZXT...

But for Beginner Drummer, It's good enough....

You can grab some Zildjian ZBT Rock Set just like me around the price, just added some bucks...
