don't know, but it may serve as a bass drum again...buy it and all the drum stuff you can
all the best...
Ok, heres the deal,
At school we were messing around with old drum bits and we found a bass drum with only the top skin, we put it on some old floor tom stands and it sounded pretty neat, Now the school are selling off old drum bits and I was thinking of buying it.
Has any one else ever seen or tried it?

Drummers used to always play with only the top drum skins. I've seen Phil Collins on a kit like that.

Drummer Chicks Rule
If they are selling it off cheap there is a lot of stuff you can do. There are pro drummers all over that do that with bass drums. They call them gong drums etc. I think Vinny Apiece (aka Black Sabbath, Heaven and Hell) has a bass drum suspended. Do a google search for him and you well get the idea.
yes, 'gong' drums are getting pretty popular with pro drummers with monster kits, aka people who don't have to pay for their drums!
I say go for it if it sounds good!

It's a classic.
• How many drummers does it take to change a lightbulb?
Five: One to screw the bulb in, and four to talk about how much better
Neil Peart could have done it.
Ok, il go in there and get it then,
the school is selling off 1 1/2 drum kits, so i'll see if i can get it
thanks for the replies, and i'l send some pics if i end up getting it (my rooms going to be packed)
