    Default Nylon filled Tension Rods

    Hi All,

Anyone here use those 'custom' tension rods that have nylon on the lower section of the thread to 'maintian and hold' the tension rod in place.

If so- do they actually work?

    Cheers

My new Sonor kit comes standard with these and they work great.

I think they would work great, my only reservation would be how much do they cost to outfit a whole kit. I guess you really wouldn't need to do the whole kit, just an offending drum that will not stay in tune. But I am kind of an all or nothing guy and would want to change them all.

I may have misunderstood your request. With the Sonor the casing is where you will find the tension device.

The new Sonor Force tuning lugs
    with fine-pitch threads are equipped
    with the TuneSafe tuning-safeguard
    feature, which prevents tension
    screws from loosening.

The tension rods Wotto is referring too is the type that has a slot down the center of the rod on one side that has a plastic of Teflon type material that is slightly larger than the threads. The idea is that as the rods are tightened or loosened that Teflon will hold the rod where you want it, and it will not easily turn by itself to change the tunning.
