    Default Visiting Hours

The guys I play with (at least when we started) worked with me with at the hospital at time or another...

We are your typical amateur (and let me stress that word) cover band - we practice once every two weeks, and had played three gigs over the same number of years...

    Some Links:

Sweet Child Of Mine - http://youtube.com/watch?v=ejEsXrr707s
    Route 66 - http://youtube.com/watch?v=nHHBYshoISg
    Stand By Me - http://youtube.com/watch?v=XAMeXQ2JN6s

    All from our last gig.

KMD, if that's "amateur," I can't wait to hear your "pro" stuff...good job on the drums, mate...I added ya to my 'Tube subscriptions (my user name is somewhat different than the DrumChat name, but you'll see my catchphrase in the comments on "Route 66").

    Hey thanks BB.

Most of the stuff we play is pretty tight at practice but for some reason when I get in front of a crowd, I can't concentrate - prolly 'cause I'm too busy looking around everywhere else!

So, the stuff that I posted there was the best of (what was video'd) that night.

    Thanks for your kind words

Don't let it throw ya...it's always good to have eye contact with the audience...you can only make so many drummer faces anyway!

It's all about having a good mirror, and finding that perfect drummer face! Oh.........and consistency of timing too.

    Good stuff man!
If you really need help with drummer faces you could always throw a couple Alka Seltzers and a bit of water in your mouth and then move your head around in short, fast, spaztic-like movements... preferably with your eyes wide open.

Nearly?! When I hit "post quick reply" I'll be 5 up dude.
But yes, I am a freak. No more until Monday. Got a final Sunday afternoon/evening and one Monday morning.

I'd have done the alka seltzer myself but I'm not in a band, and I think you could pull it off better than me. (if you add red food coloring it mike make for some interesting reactions)

Thanks, Kiwi...now you know why I refer to male drummers as my "'bro's"...we're all related to each other one way or another! My older daughter got that shirt (and the one I'm wearin' in my av) for Christmas '06...she knows her old man's definitely a drummer!

Hey KMD, I just figured out how you are. Glad to see ya here ! The band sounds very good I just see one thing wrong... The drummer should be in front of all those guitar guys !! Man it was too hard to see the most important member of the group the way you were setup . And welcome to drumchat !!

Ha ha, yes it is I!

Yeah the setup there was less than ideal. I had no idea what my bass player was doing (mind you, his bringing the wrong plug for lining in to the P.A. didn't help). I had my kit set up on the only flat piece I could find, which was a tiny piece of concrete underneath the washing line! When we first arrived the marquee was set up on a lumpy, sloping bit of land, so we picked the whole thing up and moved it.
