Came across this on Facebook. Anyone got any experience with these rods?

    Blurb from Pearl’s site:

To maintain tuning tension rods across the batter head, all Hybrid Exotic snare drums feature Pearl's new Spin-Tight Tension Rods. The elegantly simple innovation creates a tension rod-within-a-tension rod, that allows the rod to expand and lock into place within the swivel nut.Utilizing a special drum key, tunings can be controlled inder high-impact playing like never before.
If these work and are available apart from the Hybrid Exotic snares, I’d be very interested in acquiring some...

I'm waiting for this to arrive in Australia. According to my mate at the store I'm getting it through, they will be lucky to get between 2 to 4 of these only, as demand for them has stepped up that it's outstripped the supply that Roland can allocate to Australia, apparently. Nick had tested them a bit when he went to the NAMM convention earlier this year, so he's assured me that this is a well-made pedal. So I called dibs on one of the pedals arriving!

I really like the looks of this Mapex Hybrid hardware. It's the Armory line with black accents. Just think if they could do other colors!

Cymbal toppers seem too easy a product to make yet there's a limited variety out there. They are mostly skulls, or spikes/bullets or dice.

Wouldn't it be cool to have say Star Wars themed ones or gothic or geometric shapes, lighted ones, flags, insignias, steam punk gears and what not?

That pedal just makes all kinds of sense for the electric drummer doesn't it? No more creeping pedals, because you are creating a counter-force against the kick. Nice.
