As the name suggests, is there anything else I should consider apart from imperialstar or superstar kits? I want two floor toms for sure

Well, since you mentioned the imperialstar, and the superstar kits, I would suggest the Gretsch Catalina Maple kit. It's an awesome kit for the money. If you want a kit that is comparable to the Tama Starclassic kit, then I agree with CC, and Peachy, that the Renowns would be a good choice. That said (because I have Gretsch drums), I think Mapex also makes a good kit, so Bish also offers some good advice.

i would just go with the starclassic performers. the prices are really going down on those. you can pick up a 5pc for about 1k. the lower lines just dont touch em.

If you like the starclassics I say go for them if you are not set on a kit yet do a search on all the kits in the setup you want and the price range you have ! There are many nice kits out !! And I say don't get stuck on buying new , getting a used kit means you may be able to step it up a notch for the same money !
    E Drums !! !

There are no loud instruments just loud players !

Ya I hear what ye are saying. Thanks for the comments. I'm thinking about something like this really..

    or this

BTW I'm probably seem like i'm overly concerned with aesthetics but I'm at the point where I can trust that a Starclassic will definitly sound great even when I order it over the net. I like having two floor toms and a rack tom thats not connected to the bass drum, to be quite honest I do think it looks cooler!

I agree with Funky. Of those 2, I like the first one the best. I did notice that on the second one, although it showed 2 floor toms, it only listed 1 in the description.
