I just bought pinstripes myself. Haven't put them on, yet. Maybe this weekend.
I just recently switched to Pinstipes after playing coated Ambassadors for some time to get a fatter sound out of my toms which they do and have just the right amount of muffling. So far I like the sound. However, I still like the feel and response of single ply heads and was curious about the Powerstroke 3 heads which are single ply and have a thin underlay beneath the head to dampen overtones. I don't care for the plastic rings that you place on top of your head as the drums sound to muffled to me. So, if any one has experience with these heads or the Powerstroke 4 which is 2 ply, any thoughts would be helpful.

Good heads for rock. Hope you like them.

I will. They are better than the Pearl Protones!
I've been using Pinstripes (on all my toms and bass) for over 20 years now, LOVE them!!! I use the Powerstroke 3 on my main snare though, and love that too.

Yeah, I'm digging the Pinstripes so far. I tune the reso head just a little higher in pitch than the batter and it sounds great. Anyone try the Powerstrokes on the toms?

I've always used Pinstripes. I did try the Powerstroke 3 heads once and they didn't last at all. I wasted through those things real quick. Never tried the 4s though.
