Just Got Another Paiste Crash

This time a 14" Sound Formula Reflector (old round logo) Crash to add to my set that already consists of a 15", 16", and 18"

Its the first time I've ever owned a 14" crash and its a great combination of the quickness of a splash and the dynamics of a crash!

Koopa, does it project well? I am considering a 14" Acustom crash but was wondering if it would project well or be just a big splash.

nice. i like the sound of 14" crashes. i have a k cust. dark that is one of my favs. i even had a 14" zbt crash that i thought was head and shoulders above the rest of the pack i got. and you cant go wrong with high end paiste.

First Impressions:

Its the brightest of the reflector crashes I own (as it should be considering its the smallest). But besides the diameter effect, I don't notice much of the typical darkening that the "reflector" addition normally makes on this crash. Although I have not ever heard a 14" sound formula crash (non-reflector) before so perhaps its a tad darker than those. What this cymbal makes me really want is an 8" tom drum on my kit to compliment its higher pitch voice!


This cymbal definitely projects like a crash when you hit it but then quickly decays. Since this is a 14" thin crash I can hear some difference in the body of the cymbal vs. a bigger one like the 18" reflector I have. I got to admit that these crash cymbals really sound great together as a set. I'm very pleased.

Wow Totti I wouldn't mind picking that ride up myself. Is he still willing to part with it? That is if you weren't going to pick it up yourself. I have 3 paiste rides currently. 2 x 20" Signature Dry Reflector Crash Rides and 1 x 20" Signature Heavy Power Ride and love them all.

I love the sound...yes....But I still considering to buy some Crash....
So he offered it to somebody else....

For the most part I use one of the 20" Signature Dry Reflector Crash Rides. But if I'm playing a louder style of music I move over to the power ride.

Wow I would have offered more than $110 for that Ride. Somebody got a crazy deal!
