    Default I Am Looking For "rough Coat" For Snare

    Years Ago They Used To Make A Spray Called "rough Coat". It Was Used On Snare Drums For Brush Work.
    Anyone Out There Knows Where I Can Get A Can?
    I Have Tried Everywhere.

    No Jim but I'd be willing to bet they have something at a major hardware store that you could use. Maybe ask someone in the paint department. Either way, let us know what you find.

    I remember that stuff from 40 years ago and more. When the coating on the snare drum wore down, you spray "Rough coat" on it instead of buying a new head. I haven't seen that since then. If you ever find it...please, let me know.

    I don't know about "Rough Coat", but Rustoleum makes a spray called "Frosted" that will do the trick. It's made to frost or obscure glass such as bathroom windows, etc... I've used it on one of my snares for a while now and it works great! Should only run you about $4 a can and it will last forever...
