What Hi-hat Gear Should I Buy?!

Hey mates.

I basically obliterated the stock equipment for my hi-hat within months, and have been using it all the same.

Sooo, maybe I should buy a new hi-hat.

I'm a hard-hitting, blast-beating metal player. I need something sturdy, supportive, and rock-solid. Any ideas for gear/cymbals for my hi-hat?

As a starting point, I would start out testing out the Zildjian New Beats and the Paiste 2002 Sound Edge hi hats. Perhaps the two most famous and recorded hi hats ever made for modern music and go from there. What will work and sound the best is subjective, so try a few out, Sabian is very good stuff and may have the widest variety, but the two mentioned is a good reference and in my opinion the standard.

Did you 'obliterate' only the cymbals or the stand as well? If you need a stand, the Iron Cobra stuff from Tama is really good IMHO.
