    Default Cymbal types?

Maybe someone could explain what different types of cymbal are and what type of sound they make. Maybe the type of application used also. Suck as fast crash, ride, medium crash etc...That would be very helpful for me because I think I ise my cymbals well, but I don't even know if it's the right way. i never had a lesson. I play most everything from feel, and I'm just now learning my rudiments after about four years. The funny thing is that as I'm learning them I realized I already do a lot of them unknowingly in my playing.

    Thanks in advance!

Dark - The sound very low pitched
Bright - Have a high pitched sound
Trashy - The sound is like barongsai cymbals in China
Washy - Crashy...or something like that

yes...the terms `medium`crashes and `thin`crashes actually refer to the actual thickness of the cymbals....rides tend to be even thicker...

That Zildjian website actually answered a lot of questions for me. Thanks for the direction...It's cool to that you can lay out what cymbals you want and where you want them on the website. Then print them with the models and take them to a dealer.. Awesome.. Thanks again!!!

It may also help to look on the Sabian website as they have some pretty good sound clips on there too.....
