Gimmie some skin, man!
All my bongos and my CP congas have skin heads, as do my doumbek and djembe (on the djembe, goatskins definitely are the way to go!); the Remo tumba has a synthetic NuSkin head, which contributes to the "cojones" in that drum's sound.
Willing to try the synthetic heads on the other drums, but they're harder than heck to find for makes other than Remos (at least in my experience!).
(BTW, if we were in person, I really would give ya some skin--in the original context of the phrase!)
keep the beat goin' ... Don't keep it to yourself!
