Im awaiting delivery of my 16" zildjian A Custom medium crash but iv been told they break easy although their mediums... Should i be concerned about that coz i cant keep dishing out money for new cymbals too often?

If you use the right technique you will never break a cymbal. Swipe at them, don't go through them. Tried them out at GC and they seemed to be pretty durable though.

You've probably been told they break by site reviews, and by people with BAD technique. A customs are some of the most durable cymbals, Ever, Along with the A zildjians, A customs don't break easily, they have a nice amount of give in them to flex instead of snap (unlikes Z customs) and they are not paper thin and dent up. Just swipe at them, they will last for a LONG time.

I play on A's and as long as you hit them right you won't break them

I have all A custom crashes and they are durable enough. of course I don't hit them full force with 2B sticks either. But they are really nice cymbals.

I beat mine to death, and they hold up awesome, no problems at all, A customs are one of the best cymbals on the market.

Just a pointer, don't mimic Travis Barkers style of hitting his A Customs... They will break that way.

    what everyone else said!!!!
IMO thicker cymbals marketed towards heavy hitters usually break easier.

My dad just got back, the guy at the store gave him a ZBT 20" ride... I asked for an A custom 16" crash.... he told him it's a great cymbal.
Oh well, guess il just pawn it off. My dad brought back the difference so il just put that in for a nice crash. Guess thats the end of this thread.... or is it?
