    Question A Custom Cymbals

    Quick question,
Are A Custom cymbals hand hammered or machine hammered? On musiciansfriend.com, it says it rotary hammered. What does that mean?

I'm pretty sure their machine made, but I'm no Zildjian fanatic.

Nik, they are machine hammered. The "rotary" designation just indicates the pattern for the hammering. Some hammering is more random.

It does NOT mean that when you are playing you should hammer them in a rotary manner!!!

there was a cool episode of "how it's made" that shows how they make A customs. while most zildjian lines are kinda inconsistant (no two 18" crashes sound alike) with the a customs you pretty much know what your getting.
