    Default Sticks For Acoustic Sets

Hi Guys, bit of help needed. My band is playing an acoustic set down the local club in a months time, now we dont do acoustic but thought we'd gve it a go. Just wondering what the best sticks are to use for this sort of sound. Thanks!

Try "hot rods" - a lot of drummers use them for accoustic work. you can get them everywhere....

The "Hot Rod" collection of sticks do not project very well at all for "Live" playing other than for the very smallest of venues...restaurant background music etc. I use them sparingly...light jazz and bossa nova's. If you ever played with brushes, Hot Rods are a step above those.

Just what i would suggest, I use them often for lower volume sets, louder than brushes a lot quiter than sticks.

    Welcome to Drum Chat CM7X!

I would agree with the Hot Rods for the acoustic stuff you're going to do, especially since you don't normally do it. There might not be enough time for you to get used to playing a lighter stick, or altering your dynamic to fit the music. The Hot Rods will allow you to play as you normally would, but with a gentler sound.

Agree with Nirvana Unplugged. Plus, I still think he ended up hitting them pretty hard in some places, and they still didn't overpower.
