Getting to know each other
Ouch, amp! 12 letters, bro'! (At least my name has only eight!)
1) I'm 54
2) Began studying percussion at age 32
3) I dig hand percussion (no surprise to the regulars)!
4) Enjoy cooking--my chili is the stuff of local legend; also make banana bread for my family at Christmas!
5) Share my June 22nd birthday with another great drummer/creative mind, Todd Rundgren (only he's four years older than I am)
6) Happily married with two college-age daughters; both have played musical instruments at various times, but not drums!
7) Program director for a St. Louis talk radio station
8) Webmaster for the station website
9) Enjoy creative writing (have written columns for a local newspaper and a local parenting magazine in the past decade and am working on a novel)
10) Dig Latin music and "oldies" of the '60s and '70's...not to mention jazz, all of which have influenced my drumming style
11) Play drums and percussion with my church's guitar group AND adult choir
12) Last but most of all not least--a Christian who can tell you that, as someone once sang, God's "stubborn love" never lets go of you...
keep the beat goin' ... Don't keep it to yourself!
