Me too....i need some new stuff....
I have wanted to learn some drum tricks for a while. But never figured anything out. Most of the tricks i see on you tube and stuff seem to come from drum line people. Anyone have and good lessons or tips they can give to learn some sweet stick tricks to put into my playing.
Thanks in advance! :>

It's hard to demonstrate stick spinning through words in a forum. There's a few free videos here... http://drumbum.com/lessons/drum-less...owmanship.html

Other than that, I would recommend getting with someone around your town that can twirl and get them to show you some stuff. That's what I did years ago. I'm not the best but I know a few spins.
there is thing we do for triplets.
R-L-L Normal
R-L-L Use the back of the stick on the R (stick moving a bit to the left)

kind of a neat little trick. Easy once you do it a couple times. We usually use it for ninelets.
There was also something a tenor player did last year. He twirled his left mallet around his other mallet, and caught it. A bit harder, but it looked awesome.
just try to do some basic twirls. That's what i do.
