if there's some who don't know they're in you're band, PM them. I guess we'll start this way. There's a kid's neighborhood house that wants to host the band Black Sun's next concert. he's only got 50 seats though...

We need to get this going!

    Starting money:$5000

    - $2798 for 2 Carvin California Carved top guitars
    - $650,000 for a BIG wall of Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifiers
    - $750,000 for a 30' class A motorhome
    - $800,000 for a semi
    - $2.98 for some ear plugs

means that we are $2,197,800.98 in the hole already and we don't have our full band yet! Our first show better be sold out, cuz' even with earplugs I'll be permanently deaf afterwards!

Sorry I'm late for the gig, dudes! Had to grab the NEW congas and bongos (the Remos that include those bongos I shouted out about in the Percussion Thread)--even with the reasonable prices, that adds close to 2K more to the bill (now Mrs. 'bro is an accountant, but she has no desire to be a girl singer, so let's see who's available for the backup vocals)...

To borrow that great line from Grand Funk (slightly altered for this context):

"C'mon dudes, let's get it on--and we're proceedin' to tear this whole place down!!!"
keep the beat goin' ... Don't keep it to yourself!

Now for a few of my additions to the JD playlist...you know we have to have a few tunes on which the percussionists do their thing!

One song, to which I've alluded to already, is

"We're an American Band"--Grand Funk Railroad (not a percussion song, but one of my favorite rockers)

    Here are a few others:

    "Listen to the Music"--Doobie Brothers
    "Long Train Running"--Doobie Brothers
    "What a Fool Believes"--Doobie Brothers
"All I Ever Wanted"--Santana (gotta include that bongo break)
    "Evil Ways"--Santana
    "Margarita"--Sleepy Brown
    "Do It Again"--Steely Dan
"Ricki, Don't Lose That Number" (don't laugh, it has a Latin-jazz feel to it)--Steely Dan
    "Low Rider"--War
    "Ramblin' Man"--Allman Brothers
and for that necessary moody interlude where you're doing somethin' slow...
"Riders on the Storm"--The Doors (congas and djembe together can really create some serious thunder, 1DB)...

(Must admit we're gonna be all over the map, but we're gonna have the best of the DrumChat bands, dudes!)
