I'm 52 and can fart out a beat like your grandmother! Can I audition?
Hi guys. I'm new to this forum. I hope I'm not out of line by putting a drummer wanted ad here. I'm sure it will be deleted if I am.
We are a three piece (2 at the moment) original rock band from Melbourne Australia named Sweetmac. Our drummer has had to leave due to other commitments and now we find ourselves on the search for a new drummer age between 18 and 40.
We jam in BAyswater every Monday night and the aim is to get back into doing 3 - 4 gigs per month. We have been getting great reviews from gigs and really want to get the wheels rolling again.
Feel free to have a listen www.myspace.com/sweetmacmusic and get in touch if you are keen to have a jam. sweet_mac@iprimus.com.au
Thanks for taking the time to read.
Mick.

Ok, I've got a question that's been on my mind for years now. How come Aussies don't have an accent when they sing and why don't American singers sound Aussie or British when they sing?

Welcome to the forum and good luck with your new drummer search down under!
Good question. I'm not sure why to be honest. I just sing the way that feels most natural. It's not like I have to make a conscious effort to sing without an Aussie accent. There are quite a few bands that sing with an Aussie accent. Midnight Oil was proby the most popular one over here that did.

Here are some more modern acts that sing with an Aussie accent.
This is my favorite Aussie band

Even they go into a slight American accent every now and then.
Hey SM, really dig the music! would of definately been keen on a jam but I cannot commit to anything at the moment so I wont waste your time. Just got so much going on. Good luck in finding a drummer and keep those rocking tunes coming
