Hey Andreeew, good luck on Monday!

I tell you what, I'm still nervous every single time I play in front of people, but it goes away once I start playing.

One little tip for you that might help - just concentrate on the music and look at your drums, not at the audience. It will help keep you focused and keep the nerves at bay.

I think the anticipation is the biggest cause of nervousness, but I think you'll do better than you think.

Good luck to you Andreeew! Just concentrate on playing with the band, and don't worry about "performing" until the nerves ease. I bet you'll be fine, once you get into it!

hey gang I just got home from the auditions. It sucked! We'll we rocked out, did our best. Our guitarist was a real facemelter. There were about 300 people and 25+bands. but the organizers really sucked hard. They said we (the bands) choose the song we play but once they've decided which bands play on the school festival, they the organizers will choose the songs to be played and it sucked they wanted 70's stuff. Almost half of the bands backed out when they announced this. They wanted performers not artists. But whatever we had fun, we kicked butt people enjoyed our song and it was great experience for me.

hey, experience is a good consolation prize. As for 70's music, I don't think they are easy play. When I look at their drum notations I feel like there's a lot of incorporated jazz/big band style.

Well, if you chose not to participate then you didn't NOT get the gig. You created your own destiny and that's what it's really all about.

When you can do that, then you are in control of your musical future.

Well Andreeew it was a success for you, because you got that first time playing in front of an audience behind you now, even if it was one song!

It gets easier from here on out!

As long as you were happy with it that's great! I really dont see why yuo would get bands to play and then tell them what to play. I mean its fair enough having limits like the type of music but that just seems a bit strange to me. Enjoying yourself is the main thing though!
