The Tama rhythm watch is nice, easy too use, and its not crazy expensive

The Boss DB-90 is a great metronome with a semi human voice feature, but a bit pricey at about 160 USD.

I use a Korg MA-30. It's not backlit, so I use it only for persoanl practice, but then I don't like to use a metrophone when I play along with someone else anyway. This can be had for around $30. I use headphones so that I can hear the audio real well.
