Xylophone on set?

i have a pearl metal 2.5 octave xlyo on my set to the left of the hi-hats and was wondering watcha think? i got the inspiration from the mini-vibes on neil pearts set and since im good on a xlyo i tried it out on my set i have xylo mallets on my floor tom stick bag which i use on xlyo and the bongos on my kit. plus im the only percussionist in a symphonic orchestra so i use a drum set bass.

that sounds awesome! i aquired a xylophone set from a school auction, i need to figure out how to incorporate it into my kit sometime.

get some mallets and if it has a stand put it either to the right of your floor tom or the left of your hi-hats

it came with 1 mallet, and a hardshell case. I will just have to take my drum stand parts, and see if i can rig something up until i move the fridge, i can't do anything with that though. Won't go beside the floor tome, because i'm up against a cabinet there.

777, my son has the same set-up and I have been thinking about doing that same thing .

I saw someone else with a set and they played with their drum sticks , no mallets ,switching back and forth from the set to the xylo and it sounded good .

i use a bell kit as a nessicary piece for any non metal band i play in, i use timbale sticks so i dont need mallets, it works well but isnt as loud as id like i always have to mike it.

i bought some nylon tip promark oak 7As that t i tried on the xylo and it projects pretty well
