    Default Lesson 25

Why is this particular named Lesson 25? It appears to be written like a drag-triplet with the accent on the last beat.
Just a thought that came to me whilst I was scooping horse poop.

? I'm a little confused BLD. Are you talking about rudiment #25, or a specific lesson?

Sorry, I just think of it as rudiment 25.

To be honest with you, I haven't thought about that one in quite a while. I'll have to get out my chart.

The rudiments were initially taught as lessons with the final Rudiment being labelled as Lesson 25, othereise known as the "Rat-A-Tat." This, of course, pre-dates the current expansion of Rudiments.
There's a lot to be said for Time Honored tradition and value.

So, is it a drag with the leading hand, a normal hit with the following, then an accent with the leading hand?

Cool Frank! Do you know why they don't call it a rat a tat? I think think when I look at my poster, they all have names that resemble the "lesson", except for that one.
