Hi Dan and welcome mto the forum. I listened and watched very closely. Like the others have said, an Excellent Job with keeping a steady tempo, solid beat, getting the Fills right. I was impressed, Dan. Now, for a suggestion, if I may. The cymbals are not the greatest but you already know that. When you play the Ride cymbal you need to be aware of the three playing zones: edge, middle and Bell. When you play on the Edge or bottom portion of the ride, all the "Wash" and over tones are going to be there and get in the way of being able to hear each stick stroke on the cymbal. When you want to crash the Ride, you do that here. Now, when you play the Ride to be clean and keep the movement going, you play in the middle section. Here, the sound is more articulate and less "Wash." As you watch drummers you will see where they play on their Rides. The Bell Zone is use more for loud effect and Latin music. As you continue to develop, you will come to know about better equipment. You have a pretty decent set to learn on. I liked the sound of your bass drum. The snare can be a little tighter for this music. Play around with the height of your cymbals so you can reach the middle section comfortably and not make you right arm ache. And always remember to "Have Fun!!"
There's a lot to be said for Time Honored tradition and value.

Hi Dan, I commented on the youtube page too.

Listen to Frank. (fiacovaz) It's excellent advice.

I strongly you persue proper lessons from a qualified teacher.

You have a very good natural talent. With some proper training, and if you relax a little, you will grow into a supremely wide open minded musical cat as SWD says.

Dan, that's a lot better than just okay after only a week of playing the drums. You have excellent tempo, which is awesome! Keep it simple and don't try to do too many complicated fills....that will come naturally as you progress.

Ringo Starr is a highly respected drummer. You know why? He's not known for any real impressive fills, he's known for his nearly perfect tempo! Keep on learning and fuel the passion bro!! You're doing great!

yeah, roaddebris, hit it on the head. confidence confidence confidence.
for somebody thats only played for a week and to post a vid... nice. your tempo is real good, and I can see you are relaxed, very key. Also I can't play with out shoes, but if you can thats great, but try playing with a pair of sneakers on ( with dry bottoms ). and really FEEL the music, be a musician, not justg a drummer. but over all, I'm impressed. keep it up!!!
